Persians (Iranians + parts of Afghanistan and central Asia) celebrate the last night of the autumn season (tonight). We call this night, which is the longest night of the year, Yalda.
This year we celebrated it one night early with a bunch of friends, as it had coincided with the birthday of a friend, hence a b-day party that we also considered as our Yalda party.
